I'll gather some information about your boat model and what you're looking to do - window replacement, canvas repairs, or entirely new canvas and windows to make your boat look like new.  I can usually quote window replacement over the phone.  You can drop your panels off at my home workshop in Munster, Indiana, or I can pick them up from you to perform the replacement.

If you would like major replacements or an entirely new enclosure, I'll need to visit your boat.  I'll come to where your boat is stored, or to your marina if the boat is in the water.  I'll then have the information I need to give you an firm quote on the work, usually within a day.

I use special patterning plastic to get accurate measurements for your new top and/or sides.  I will create the bimini (roof) portion of the top first and ensure that the fit is perfect, making any adjustments needed.  I will then create the other panels (side/back/windshield) and return to the boat to test fit and make final adjustments.

How Long Will it Take to Complete my Order?

I strive to complete window replacements and minor repairs in days, not weeks.  I keep high-quality 60-gauge window vinyl in stock, so there is no wait for materials.

For complete replacements, the time for completion will depend on time to receive materials for your project and my workload.  In a best-case scenario, I can receive your materials and have your replacement ready in 2-3 weeks.  When we meet, I will be able to get you a better estimate of how long the project will take.

Does My Boat Have to Go "Topless" While You Complete a Replacement?

No.  Because older tops stretch and are often not good templates for your new top, in most cases I will take measurements for your new top with special patterning plastic, allowing you to use your existing top while I complete your replacement.

For repairs, obviously I will need to have the piece(s) at my workshop to perform the repair.  However, these repairs and replacements usually can be done in less than a week.

What Materials Do You Use?

I recommend using Sailrite Sunbrella canvas for your project and quality 60-gauge vinyl window material.  

Not only is Sunbrella high-quality canvas, but the Sailrite warehouse is located just outside Fort Wayne, Indiana.  This means I can often receive material in 1-2 days, cutting down your wait.

I can also use your choice of materials, but this may add to wait time.

What Colors are Available?

Sunbrella is available in over 50 colors.  I will bring samples of the most popular colors for you to view when we meet.  You can view other colors on Sailrite's website.

How Much Does it Cost?

Of course, without knowing the specifics of your boat, it's impossible to give you an accurate estimate for the work you'd like me to do.  Window replacement typically costs $200-$400 per window panel depending on size.  

Complete replacement of your top and side panels depends greatly on the size of your boat and the layout of the panels.  At least 40 hours of expert labor is required for most boats.

For smaller boats, entire replacement can be as little as $4,000, and can be $10,000 or more for a larger boat.

Bimini top replacement with no side panels starts at $1000 for smaller boats.  Please call me at 219-433-2329 and provide information about your boat for a better estimate.

I will do my best to beat the lowest price you've received from another legitimate canvas provider but I won't sacrifice quality to be the "low cost provider".
